Veterinary Medicine
The Veterinary Medicine Complex is located southeast of the ISU main campus. The complex is used both for teaching and research. Two animal clinics-one for small animals and one for large animals-are also located here. This statue, "The Gentle Doctor", was created by former ISU Artist-in-Residence Christian Petersen and is located in the courtyard of the complex. Petersen created many of the statues on campus. This is perhaps his most famous work.

On the west side of the Vet Med complex is the Squaw Creek Path. It's a quick, convenient, and pleasant way for pedestrians and cyclists to travel between downtown, the Veterinary Medicine complex, and the ISU Research Park (located farther south ). This wooded two-mile long former railroad corridor would be more suitably named the "Worle Creek Path", since it parallels Worle Creek
