This is Reiman Gardens in early spring, as seen from the bicycle path along Elwood Dr. The ISU gardens used to be located on campus near the ISU power plant. When the Facilities Dept. needed more space a few years ago, the old gardens were made into a parking lot and new gardens constructed out here. Thanks to a generous gift from publisher and ISU alumnus Roy Reiman (and many others), the new gardens are much larger and far more magnificent than the old ones. A conservatory and butterfly garden are recent additions. It's a popular place among both visitors and townspeople.

Of course, in early spring, the gardens are still pretty bare. Here's what the gardens look like in the summer. On the left, you can see a portion of the garden's extensive rose beds:
