Campustown, Ames, Iowa
The business district near the university is called "Campustown". This is looking north toward the university on Welch Ave., Campustown's main street. Friley Hall, one of the oldest and largest residence halls on campus, fills the background. We used to provide recycling services to the students who live there and several other dormitories as well.
A clock tower was built a few years ago in the center of Welch Ave. in Campustown. It's not only useful for telling time, it provides a little traffic calming, too.
