Audobon trail in Brookside Park (spring)

We start our tour on the Audubon trail in Brookside Park in central Ames. Brookside is one of the largest and nicest parks in the city. It is also one of the oldest parks; in the first decade of the 1900's, this park hosted public Chautauqua lectures that drew hundreds. It has several picnic shelters, playground equipment, a wading pool, and three ball fields. This section of this beautiful trail, which parallels Squaw Creek, was completed in 1999.
